If after that session we decide to move forward, our first step is an in-person one to two hour intake session. Depending on the situation, this can be with just an individual who is interested in working with us, or it can be with that individual and their family. Prior to session, you will need to complete and send us the downloadable intake form before hand. (click to download PDF)
If after the intake session you are interested in moving forward with Therapy we will begin with a single overnight nature immersion trip. Starting out with an extended period of time together, away from the distractions of the clients’ everyday life, is a quick way to build connection and trust. This extended time helps to move through some of the healing more quickly, and clients are often inspired and motivated by their early progress.
FINANCIAL AID Restorative Adventures values inclusion and believes that anyone could benefit from connecting with nature in a safe and supportive environment. For this reason we offer our rates on a sliding scale and have some Financial Aid available. We welcome you to contact with any request. Our hope is to support each individual with their unique needs while honoring our needs.
LIABILITY At Restorative Adventures takes participants into locations that may be unfamiliar and might push the comfort levels of participants at times. Our programs are conducted in the field where participants may encounter uneven terrain, inclement weather, insects and other unpredictable events; participants should be prepared for such events and in good physical condition to spend an entire day outdoors. Before attending any Restorative Adventures program we require that you fill out our release of liability form and enrollment packet. In addition, all participants are responsible for providing their own health and accident insurance.
SUSTAINABILITY Being sustainable is something we hold as an important value. Sustainability is not about being perfect but continually assessing our attitudes, values, and choices. We constantly look for new “best practices” and strategies to minimize our impacts. Some of the strategies that we use are to shop local & organic, recycle our materials, going paperless when possible, and choosing sustainable modes of transportation.
